Summary: Ulf Langheinrich is a visual artist and composer. His work is mainly concerned with non-narrative environments and performances focusing on a specific approach to time, space and body. Since 2016 he is the Artistic Director of the International Festival for computer based art CYNETART in Dresden, Germany. Employing monumental projected images and bludgeoning sound environments, the multimedia installations of Ulf Langheinrich mark a new stage in the aesthetic of sensory overload. In the early 1980s he studied industrial design, and carried out audio experiments using organs and harmoniums. In 1991 he founded the groundbreaking audio-visual performance and installation duo Granular Synthesis with Kurt Hentschlager. Granular Synthesis have presented their evolving body of work extensively in Europe and the United States. .
